Milestone

Published August 24, 2013

I was informed this past week that our church website had just reached 3,500 hits on the site. What this means in layman’s terms is that we have had 3,500 visitors to our website. Now to clarify, perhaps 10% of those “visitors” have been those of us administrating and keeping the website updated. Our visitors have included folks from all over the United States and even a few overseas visitors. We look forward to these numbers growing exponentially in the next few months. We give thanks to God for the opportunity to share the message of Christ to our world. […]

Odds ‘N Ends

Published June 4, 2013

Thank you for stopping by to check out our church web site. I want to give you a heads up on a couple items. This past Sunday, it appeared in your bulletin, but we forgot to mention that we will be collecting a love offering for the Oklahoma tornado relief project this Sunday, June 9th, in our AM Service. Church of God Ministries in Southwest Ohio have asked that all our sister churches collect a special offering on Sunday that we can jointly send to the disaster relief efforts in and around the City of Moore, Oklahoma. We will take […]

Follow-Up From Sunday May 19.

Published May 20, 2013

I wanted to post the prayer that I mentioned last night, as well as the scripture I have been mulling over. The scripture is Proverbs 27:12 “The prudent see danger and take refuge, but the simple keep going and suffer for it.” The prayer I am trying to pray every day is: “Heavenly Father, help me to recognize trouble long before it gets here. Give me the wisdom to know what to do about it. And please give me the courage to do it.”

NEW Sunday Night Study Series

Published April 22, 2013

Beginning May 19th @ 6:00 PM, we are beginning a new Sunday night series entitled, “I’ve Always Wondered About …” This is your chance to submit questions about the Bible, about the Church of God Reformation Movement, or about specific Bible passages that you may have questions about. I ask that you submit those questions to me in writing, via email, or by posting here as a response, or by jotting it down on a piece of paper and giving it to me at church. Here is the deal. I can not guarantee I will come up with a satisfactory […]

Thought From Tuesday Night, March 5th.

Published March 9, 2013

In Andy Stanley’s first session of the series “Christian,” he made a comment that the the modern church has suffered greatly because we have not kept the “new commandment” (John 13:34) where Jesus told us to “love one another” as believers in the church. He further maintained that this “new commandment” was what eventually caused the early church to topple the mighty Roman Empire, because this lifestyle of love so so radical to the Roman culture that it became contagious. Any thoughts or comments? Ladies, I know you were in a different session, but feel free to chime in. What […]

Bible Study vs. the Weather

Published March 5, 2013

It’s currently 5:50 PM on Tuesday, March 5th. As of right now, our first night of Bible Study is still a go. We’ve been watching the weather forecasts all day, and have concluded that every forecast is different. We’ve chosen to go with the Weather Chanel website, who says the snow rain mix will hold off to 9:00 or 10:00 PM. We will try our best to get done a few minutes early so folks can be well on their way home or AT home before the worst of the weather hits. Be careful shoveling snow tomorrow. Isn’t it grand […]

New Web Site

Published February 12, 2013

As you can see, we recently moved to a new web site.  The reasons for the move were several: First, the web address has changed to an address that is easier to remember and one that “makes sense.”  One comment from visitors was that it was hard to remember our web address. Second, we have greater storage capability – more storage means we can keep more sermons online for a longer period of time.  All sermons are saved off-line, and can be requested by a simple e-mail.  But we can keep several months worth of sermons posted online.  Plus, in […]
